JULIA MUNGER SEELOS        workshop
Plein Air Painting Workshop - San Luis Obispo County

Painting in the outdoors, known as “plein air” allows the artist to experience the beauty of a place while trying to capture in paint the shapes, colors and textures that make it special.  The experience of painting with oils can be both rewarding and frustrating.  A few basic principles coupled with careful observation arms the novice with the tools to grow in their journey to become a better artist.

Workshops will cover oil painting materials and their use, basics of composition and color theory. Each workshop session will include a beginning demonstration with time for questions, followed by students selecting and painting their own subject with gentle one-on-one guidance.

Day one we will meet by the Natural History Museum parking lot in Morro Bay State Park. The second day will be held at another local scenic spot still TBD.
